History - Station 36 holds the only honor of being able to be seen but not located on a specific piece of land. This has been commonly known as the Hobby Airport Station. In 1956 it was nothing but almost a mere barn located on the west side of the Hobby Airport. In 1957 the units were moved to a more stabilized building and then in 1985 it was moved to its present location at Airport and Dover, all within sight of each other at Hobby Airport. Station 36 took the place of the old Garden Villas Volunteer Fire Department.
