History of Fire Station 72
In 1978 the Houston Fire Department contracted with the Johnson Space Center to open Station 72 on the base and in 1998 a new station was built at Saturn Lane and Gemini.
Firefighters from Station 72 responded to 1133 incidents in 2011. In 2011, the average response time for Engine 72 was 5 minutes and 43 seconds and for Medic 72 was six minutes and 12 seconds.
