HFD Fire Station No. 81
Houston Fire Station #81 |
History of Fire Station 81
Hobby Airport, with its growing aircraft traffic, needed more fire protection. In 1985 a hanger on the western edge of the airport was opened as Station 81.
This station was opened in order to separate the AAFF units from station 36, while a new station was being built on the extreme south side of the airport at the Intersection of Paul B. Koonce and Brannif.
In 1987 Station 81 opened at this new facility.
