HFD Fire Station No. 83
Houston Fire Station #83 |
History of Fire Station 83
Due to the area’s rapidly developing high density housing which overextended the available emergency response and fire protection, a ground breaking was held on October 8, 2002 for the new fire station 83 .
The Houston Fire Department assumed ownership of the new station on February 14, 2005 and firefighters moved in on March 2, 2005. The three bay station houses an ambulance, squad and engine and is home to approximately nine firefighters per each of the four shifts. The building design and construction was funded by the Fire Consolidated Construction Fund. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 1, 2005.
