History of Fire Station 86
Fire Station 86 was introduced in the City’s Capital Improvement plan due to the need to provide emergency services of the rapidly developing area annexed by the City in 1992. On June 17, 2004, the city was given the notice to proceed with the construction of the new station.
The three bay station houses an ambulance, squad and engine and is home to approximately eight firefighters per each of the four shifts. The building design and construction was funded by the Capital Improvement Plan with final construction cost of $3,125,913.38.
A grand opening ceremony was held on February 21, 2006.
