Councilmembers Experience "Fire Ops 101"

Several City of Houston Council Members and City Council staff members will participate in a one-day fire department orientation course on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 9am to 1pm at the HFD Val Jahnke Training Facility, 8030 Braniff off Telephone Rd.
HFD"Fire Ops 101" hands-on classes were first held in June of 2004. Council Members, council member staff, church and community leaders and members of the media have all experienced this hands-on course designed to enhance awareness of the department's capabilities and limitations; and to develop a cooperative relationship between firefighters and the citizens of Houston.
Those attending this "Fire Ops 101" are:
Council member Anne Clutterbuck and her chief of staff Tim Douglass representing district C.
Council member M.J. Kahn and his staff member Benjamin Hernandez representing District F.
Representing at-large position 2, staff members Ryan Leach and Estelle Stewart.
Representing district I for council member Carol Alvarado is staff member Jerry Greenspan.
