HFD and Local Agencies Participate in "The Pink Ribbon Tour"

The Houston Fire Department, Houston Police Department and Harris County Sheriff's Office teamed up to participate in the "Cares Enough to Wear Pink" campaign as part of the "Pink Ribbon Tour" during a press conference on September 2, 2008, at 3815 Westheimer (Central Market Store).
The Pink Ribbon Tour is a group of firefighters, police officers, and community leaders that have joined together to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The tour began in Phoenix , Arizona on August 24, 2008 and will arrive in Houston this morning at 10 a.m. where they will also participate in the afternoon press conference. The Guardians of the Pink Ribbon are driving a pink fire truck 10,000 miles across America through 32 cities, spreading the “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” campaign.
The “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” campaign and the Houston Fire Department encourages all city employees to wear pink on October 25, 26, and 27, 2008 to demonstrate support in the fight against this deadly disease.
