This initiative is focused on improving Houston's mobility and enabling Houston to lead the way in workplace flexibility. Intro to Flexworks will be able to answer many of your questions in the purpose and direction of this very important initiative.
Two of the main resources for this website are Houston's Best Practice Employers and the Flexible Workplace Initiative Steering Committee. The Best Practice Employers have established a trusting performance based culture and, where it makes good business sense, encouraged flexible work options. Find out what other Houston employers are doing and see some of the tools and programs they are using.
If you are an employer interested in offering flexible work options, the Toolkit will help guide you through building the business case, assessing your current culture; identifying the type of jobs that flex successfully; determining the type of employee attributes that lead to successful flexing; and the skills best for managing in a flexible work environment. You will also find ways to measure productivity and tools to aid employee / manager communication.
