The Property Management Division is responsible for comprehensive property management. These services include operations and maintenance and security for over 5.5 million sq. ft. of occupied space. The division employs a variety of workers to accomplish these services, including electricians, carpenters, painters, plumbers, Stationary engineers and groundskeepers.
The Property Management Division is organized into two units as follows:
Operations
The Operations Unit provides property management, maintenance, operations, evacuation, safety planning and training to over 200 city facilities. The facilities under its oversight are divided into three (3) geographical districts: Central Business District, North District and South District.
Security Management Tom Edwards , Chief of Security Security Management oversees security analysis and contract administration for various department properties. Primarily, the unit is responsible for administering photo identification badge production for city employees, badge coding for electronic access control, designing and supervising the installation of electronic monitoring security systems. Security Management also assists local law enforcement agencies with investigations related to lost or stolen city assets.
