Osaro Mgbere
Project Coordinator

Osaro Mgbere MS, PhD, MPH has more than 18 years of experience in database development, data management and statistical analysis that span academic and research institutions through public health agencies.  He received his MS and PhD degrees from University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and the degree of Master in Public Health from College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of New England, Portland, Maine. Dr. Mgbere has been an Assistant Professor at University of Ibadan and University of Science & Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria and has over 40 scientific publications in learned journals. Dr. Mgbere has served as Consultant Biometrician to many international organizations including WHO, UNDP, GTZ and EEC. He is currently a Senior Epidemiologist-Biostatistician at the Houston Department of Health and Human Services, and serves as the Team Lead and Data Manager for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded Houston Medical Monitoring Project (HMMP), a Specialized HIV/AIDS Surveillance Project. Dr. Mgbere is also a current member of the Houston Ryan White Planning Council, which is responsible for prioritizing and allocating grant funds for services most needed by people living with HIV/AIDS in the Houston area.
