Supervisor
and Coordinator
Salma A. Khuwaja MD, MPH, DrPH is the Epidemiologist
Supervisor for the HMMP. She has over 15 years of experience in the field
of public health research, preventive medicine and teaching. She received
her medical degree from the Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan,
Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in
Baltimore, and DrPH from University of Texas, School of Public in Houston. In
her career, Salma has held positions of Junior faculty in community Health
Science Department at Aga Khan University in Karachi and Program manager
at Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan. Before Joining HMMP she was
serving as Project coordinator for West Nile virus and Vaccine preventable
diseases surveillance program at the Houston Department of Health and
Human Services.
