Epidemiologist and Team Lead
Taiwo Fasoranti MD is the Epidemiologist and Team Leader for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded Houston Medical Monitoring Project (HMMP); a Specialized HIV/AIDS Surveillance Project. He has over 18 years of experience in the field of Clinical, Research, Public Health and Preventive Medicine both in the USA and Nigeria. He attended the University of Ibadan and completed a Pre Med programme. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University School of Medicine, Ile–Ife Nigeria. Since graduation, Taiwo has held positions as Clinician Research and Project Manager at the North Incorporation for Total Health and Novum Pharmaceuticals respectively. He received the 2005 Joel Martinez HIV/AIDS Treatment/Community Advocacy Scholarship Award as a result of his advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS in the USA. Currently, he is on the Board of The Center for AIDS Information & Advocacy (http://www.centerforaids.org). Taiwo is an Msc Infectious Disease Candidate at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has authored /co-authored scientific abstracts in the area of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
