The monthly Mobile Clinic calendar contains outreach screening events that are scheduled during a weekly interval. The calendar may be revised and updated frequently with locations as well as any other pertinent information related to screening events that are scheduled during the outbreak response. Once the calendar is updated and revised, a copy will be forwarded to all recipients.
Il. Mobile Clinic Availability:
On some occasions, the STD Mobile Clinic may be required to provide STD services during rapid response activities related to unforeseen increases in syphilis or HIV cases and priority case-related screenings. In the event that the Mobile Clinic services are required for such activities, screening dates that were previously scheduled on the monthly screening calendar may be cancelled or rescheduled for an alternate date.
The Mobile Clinic Coordinator will:
1) Immediately notify the appropriate contact person at the affected CBO to inform the CBO of the change in schedule.
2) Communicate with the CBO to determine the feasibility of the CBO assisting with the newly scheduled screening event and/or attempt to establish an alternate screening date for the original, cancelled screening event.
Process for assuring Mobile Clinic location and service availability:
Clients and individuals who refer clients to the Mobile Clinic should always telephone the Mobile Clinic at (832) 623-0875 (during scheduled hours on calendar) to confirm the Mobile Clinic's location and ability of Mobile Clinic staff to see clients as location and capacity to see clients may change at any time. During regular hours (8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m., please contact David Watson at (713) 794-9660 or Michael Thomas at (832) 465-0864 for questions concerning the Mobile Clinic and Mobile Clinic availability."
