About Us
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mandated HIV Prevention Community Planning in 1993 for agencies that it funded. Community planning was subsequently implemented by the Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) in 1994.

Who We Are
At any given time the Houston HIV Community Planning Group (HHPCPG) may consist of up to 35 members.

HHPCPG members represent these health professionals:
1. Representatives of affected populations,
2. Infected populations,
3. Epidemiologists,
4. HIV/AIDS prevention service providers,
5. Health department staff, and
6. Other people responsible for analyzing the course of the epidemic in our area.
