Health Centers


The City of Houston Health Department health centers protect the health and social well-being of all Houstonians. The health centers provide patient services to meet the community’s present and future needs in Family Planning, Immunizations, Tuberculosis diagnosis, care for Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Dental Care.

The Houston Health Department will not deny access to services due to inability to pay. Additionally, a discounted/sliding fee schedule available for most services. Parental consent is not required for family planning services to adolescents.

Health center hours are subject to change, therefore patients are encouraged to call the appointment line to schedule services: 832.393.5427. Be advised that all services may not be provided at each health center. Health services are not be offered on Saturdays or holidays.

Los centros de salud del departamento de Salud de la Cuidad de Houston protegen la salud física y bienestar social de residentes de Houston. Los centros de salud de la Cuidad de Houston proveen servicios de Planificación de la familia, Vacunas, diagnóstico de Tuberculosis, el cuidado de enfermedades de transmisión sexual, y cuidado dental.

El departamento de Salud de la Cuidad de Houston no le negará acceso a servicios por incapacidad de pago. Además, ofrecemos una escala móvil de descuentos para varios servicios. Consentimiento de los padres no es necesario para los servicios de planificación familiar para adolescentes.

Immunization information:

  • Patients age 18 and younger, may be eligible for the Texas Vaccines for Children (TFVC) Program.
  • Patients age 19 and older, may be eligible for the Adult Safety Net (ASN) Program.
  • Those who do not qualify can visit the Vaccine Center for Adults and Travelers (VCAT) clinic located within Sharpstown Health Center

    • El Centro de Corazon (Federally Qualified Health Center) - at Magnolia Health Center location, 7037 Capitol, Phone: 713.926.1849, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday
    • Good Neighbor Health Care Center (Federally Qualified Health Center) - 190 Heights Blvd., Phone: 713.529.3597. Staffed by skilled health care professionals committed to their work and the patients they serve, GNHealth Center offers a wide array of services to families living in the Greater Houston area. Services include primary health care, dental care, optometry and behavioral health services.
    • Legacy at Lyons (Federally Qualified Health Center) - at Lyons Health Center location, Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. Legacy at Lyons offers "Affordable health care centers for the Family." Services include well woman/well male exams, annual checkups, school and sports physicals, immunization/flu shots, family planning/birth control, testing for sexually transmitted diseases and primary care. Legacy is accepting Medicaid/Medicare and many other private insurance plans. Call 832-548-5000. for more information.
