Hepatitis B Prevention Program
The
Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program promotes hepatitis
B vaccination for all children 0-18 years;
HBsAg screening and counseling for all pregnant women (see www.tdh.state.tx.us
for SB 519 that requires for all pregnant women
be screened for Hepatitis B virus at the first prenatal
exam and at the time of delivery); HBsAg screening and vaccination
for all household contacts of HBsAg (+) maternity clients; counseling
and educating high risk groups.
