AARP Senior Employment
Program
The staff consists of 8 part-time employees and hours of operation
are from Monday - Friday, 9a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Recruit Seniors (55 +) to
come in for job assistance

office, fill out papers, bring specific documents to see if
they qualify for program
Job fairs are held in our
community
Send selected clients to
computer classes in area available free of charge
Refer non-clients to job
interviews and at times placed them in jobs
Since some clients are raising
their grandchildren, the need to consider clients working
hours to coincide with their child care/health care obligation
and transportation are necessary.

Child Care Council
Child Care Council of Greater Houston runs this Center
The Day Care Center provides services to low and middle income
families.
Hours of operation are from Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m.
Approximately 50-75 clients
are served per month.

to children from 6 months to 6 years of age

Harris County Juvenile
Probation
Deferred Prosecution is a diversion program to work with first-time,
misdemeanor offender. Hours of operation are Mon.-Wed. / 7 a.m.-6
p.m., Tues.-Thurs. / 7a.m-8 p.m., Fridays, 7 a.m. – 5
p.m.
Approximately 14 active cases,
supervised by nine Juvenile Probation Officers
Periods of supervision is
six months and clients are between ages of 10 and 17 years
old
Services provided include
drug education, individual/family counseling, anger management,
anti-shoplifting classes
Officers perform drug testing/refer
clients to appropriate agencies
If other services are need
(i.e. education, pregnancy, mental health)
Workshop hours are the 3rd
Wednesday of each month, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. &
1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, 9a.m. - 3p.m.
