HDHHS TO TARGET HIGH RISK GROUPS WITH H1N1 VACCINE

The Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) will offer injectable H1N1 vaccines to people in high risk groups starting Monday, Nov. 16.

HDHHS received a new H1N1 vaccine shipment with 16,000 doses on Thursday and will use them to immunize pregnant women, children 6 months and older, children with chronic conditions and household contacts and caregivers of children younger than 6 months of age.

HDHHS will offer the vaccines on a first come, first served basis at seven sites on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
