The Lillian Schnitzer Fountain in Hermann Park's Houston Garden Center is one of Houston's many public art works. More can be found at www.houstonmunicipalart.org.
The courtyard in front of Jones Hall is a popular lunchtime destination. The Houston Symphony percussion section held free concerts in April 2005 and March 2006 entitled "Brown Bags and Bongos."
The 2007 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo takes place from February 27 to March 18 at Reliant Stadium and other venues within the Reliant Park complex.
The METRO 7.5 mile Light Rail line debuted January 1, 2004. The route runs from south of Reliant Park to the University of Houston-Downtown, with 16 total stops along the way.

The Sam Houston Monument in Hermann Park was unveiled in 1925 and restored in 1996. Sam is pointing toward San Jacinto, the battleground location where Texas won its independence from Mexico.
One of many events in Hermann Park and Miller Outdoor Theatre is the celebration of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month in the month of May.
