March 22, 2007 - Despite the temperatures in the high 80's, over 175 Community Leaders, Lenders, HUD officials, Fifth Ward CRC, Fifth Ward residents joined Mayor Bill White and Director Richard Celli in a historical event of the First Check Presentation for the first Good Neighbor Next Door Program. A 2' X 4' $40,000 Promotional Check was presented to the Sanders Family. Mr. Kenneth Sanders was nominated for Special Education Teacher of the Year at R.W. Dowling Middle School. Fifth Ward CRC presented a house warming gift of a Hewlett Packard computer to the Sanders Family.
