In her free time, she is a member of the Fort Bend County Jaycees, and runs the recycling programs and volunteers at her six-year-old daughter’s school.

Laura has served the Houston Fire Department well. She is a firefighter that has gone far beyond the call of duty for Houston residents. Over the past six years, Laura has served on the Critical Incident Stress Management Team for HFD members who need help after a tragic incident.

She has been an active member of the HFD Honor Guard for 10 years, and was recently elected to its board of directors. She works all major HFD recruiting events and was a counselor for the HFD Fire Stopper Program, for which she received the HFD Fire Chief Commendation Medal in 2002.

Laura was also a member of the negotiation team for the new HFD contract. She is also one of the few female members to work at the Aircraft & Rescue Firefighter Stations.

In her free time, she is a member of the Fort Bend County Jaycees, and runs the recycling programs and volunteers at her six-year-old daughter’s school.

For this exemplary service, we are proud to present this Bravo! certificate to Laura Saavedra.
