A community service inspector, Mr. Lemley is solely responsible for monitoring and permitting more than 700 active environmental wells throughout Houston. The wells are mandated for control and removal of environmental hazards that exist underground.
Robert is always looking to improve how things are done. When he noticed inconsistencies within the city ordinance pertaining to the wells, he wrote up a proposal for changes. His proposal standardized the permitting application process, thereby drastically increasing the number of permits issued – that created more revenue for the city. It also closed many outstanding open permits, secured bonds for permits, and located numerous monitoring wells, which makes it easier to manage in the future, as you can imagine.
Robert has a bright sunny-side-up disposition and is always willing to help, his co-workers say. He’s served as a member of the E & C Employees Awards steering committee, safety liaison, and designated fire marshal.
He has a big heart. Robert just can’t say no when asked to help. Through Lost Sheep Ministries, he provides food, clothes and assistance to the poor in Piedras Negros, Mexico. Several times a year he visits that town to minister to the residents, provide guidance to men in a detention center, and help mentor youth at the local orphanage. Here at home, he mentors children through Calvary Chapel in Friendswood, and he feeds homeless and speaks in prisons and youth facilities.
Because he’s always looking at ways to make other people’s lives better, we present this BRAVO! certificate to Robert Lemley.
