Mr. Freddie’s awards include:
· Governor’s Volunteer Award for outstanding achievement in 1996 and 1998.
· World Youth Foundation’s Volunteer of the Year in 2000.
· Harris County Judge Bob Eckels and the Texas Agricultural Extension Service’s outstanding volunteer in 2000.

As a World Youth Foundation volunteer, Mr. Freddie developed the Child’s Walk Program. He takes kids to Washington, D.C., every year to work with their representatives on issues that affect youth.

From 1987-2001, at the Shape Community Center, he volunteered, recruited other volunteers, taught computer classes, maintained and repaired computers and raised funds. For four years, he chaired the Young Country Rodeo Committee, and from 1987-98, he encouraged voting as a leader in the Metropolitan Organization.

At work, Building Services named Mr. Freddie employee of the month in 2002 for his strong work ethic and for consistently rising above the call of duty. Through his leadership, Building Services increased participation and exceeded its goal in the 2001 and 2002 Combined Municipal Campaign.

After Tropical Storm Allison, Mr. Freddie worked through the Community Restoration through Self-Assessment program to identify flood victims in Trinity Gardens, East Houston, Kashmere Gardens, Settegast and East Little York and guide them to helpful organizations. About 900 residents were identified, and many have new homes.

For his unselfishness and limitless zeal in making Houston a better place to live, we proudly present the Bravo Award to Anthony Freddie.
