Russell Harris
Fire Department
 |
The result of Harris' hard work is that Houston firefighters are being recognized for their courageous actions. |
Capt. Russell Harris has actively served on Fire’s Valor and Service Awards committee for the past five years. He has been instrumental in improving and enhancing the Medal Day Award ceremony and creating a support group honoring members for their dedication.
Harris generously volunteers his time, attending more than 20 Valor Committee meetings a year and hitting the streets in search of donations to fund the committee’s efforts. He also volunteers an enormous amount of time researching each incident that’s nominated for a valor award. The result of this hard work is that Houston firefighters are being recognized for their courageous actions.
Harris is involved with the HFD Memorial Committee that organizes an annual Memorial Ceremony for firefighters who’ve died in the line of duty. He also assists maintaining his Station 68’s Web site: www.houstonfirefighter.com/68.
Maybe the words of Fire Chief Phil Boriskie sum it up best: “Capt. Harris is a very good man who I whole heartily support for recognition and this award.”
We call RUSSELL HARRIS to receive this Bravo Award.
