Engineer Operator Mellott has worked diligently not only as a firefighter but as a friend to family members of our city’s firefighters who have died in the line of duty. He has kept their family members involved in the firefighting family and brought them a great amount of comfort in the process. His efforts can be viewed on the HFD memorial Web site.
Besides helping deceased firefighters’ families, Mr. Melott volunteered to serve on the HFD Valor Committee, the HFD Memorial Ceremonial Committee, and researched and written the history found in the HFD yearbooks from 1988 to the present.
He has also spent many hours working on a complete HFD history and contributes to the Local 341 Union newsletter.
He has done this on a strictly volunteer basis.
Chief Boriskie applauds Mr. Mellott for being an asset and friend to the city’s firefighting community.
We proudly recognize Scott Mellott as a Bravo Award recipient.
