Wendy Willeford

Ms. Willeford spent 3-½ weeks in East Africa helping create a library for the College of Christian Ministries.

Ms. Willeford, currently at the Stella Link Branch, began her career with the Library Department in September 1979.  Always willing to go the extra mile to help patrons, she has served the Library and its patrons as an administrative coordinator, assistant branch manager, branch manager, and as a district and regional coordinator.

She created the first PowerPoint for use at Power Card activities; created and implemented a training curriculum in three districts; was proactive in video conferencing and distance learning at the HPL; teaches the Fifty Plus Club; and is currently learning Spanish to better communicate with Hispanic patrons.

Ms. Willeford is extremely active in volunteer work. In Elves and More, she puts together bicycles for underprivileged children; she also works at Habitat for Humanity in NW Houston and ushers at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

A Lay Eucharistic Minister, Ms. Willeford spent 3-½ weeks in East Africa helping create a library for the College of Christian Ministries. Following a flood in Del Rio, she helped sheetrock two houses in three days.

 Active in the Ascension Episcopal Church, she has taught Bible studies and Sunday school, and is a member of the National Order of the Daughters of the King.
