Unaffiliated Agencies are any 501(c)(3) organization supported in part by voluntary contributions from the public. These agencies operate independently and are not associated with a federation.

Federations are organizations which consist of five or more charitable organizations and solicit/distribute contributions on behalf of its member organizations. It is similar to an umbrella organization for a group of charities.
