Life can be difficult. Pressures are constant, and stress is plentiful. Stressors may includefinancial, parenting, dealing with depression, marital, other relationship issues, child care, elder care, loss, grief, drug/alcohol abuse, chronic illness, anxiety and work changes.

Issues like these are abundant in today’s world. The City of Houston has provided an Employee Assistance Program that can help you and your family to deal with these and other personal problems and sources of work/life stress.

The City of Houston EAP, provides a unique service which can help you learn to manage personal as well as work problems. Using the EAP is always v oluntary and strictly confidential.

EAP Counselors specialize in helping people solve problems.

The EAP counselors are experienced and licensed professionals. They include certified and licensed social workers, marriage and family therapists and licensed professional counselors. They are specially trained in working with family systems and chemical dependency. Above all, they enjoy working with people and are good listeners. Since they are also employees of the City, they understand the pressures City employees experience.
