Richard L.
Barrett was born in the great city of New
Orleans La., where he completed his undergraduate
education at Loyola University. He graduated
with a master's degree in Social Work from
the Saint Louis University School of Social
Service in 1981. Rich has worked in a variety
of mental health settings including the University
of Texas Medical School Department of Psychiatry.
He has ten years experience managing Employee
Assistance Programs, including programs with
a national and international focus. Rich is
a Certified Employee Assistance Professional
and licensed to practice independently as
a Social Worker and a Marriage and Family
Therapist. Rich is currently the manager of
the City of Houston Employee Assistance Program.
Ruth Carroll
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from
the University of Texas at Austin and earned
a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology
from the University of Houston at Clear Lake.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor as
well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Ruth has worked as an EAP Professional for
nine years. She is experienced in assisting
people to resolve all types of issues including
stress, crisis, marital, grief, family violence,
parent-child, alcohol and drugs.
Anika Isaac
graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree
from Texas Woman’s University in Family
Studies. She then went on there to earn a
Master of Science degree in Family Therapy.
Anika is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
She is also in the process of becoming a Licensed
Professional Counselor, a Licensed Marriage
and Family Therapist, and a Certified Employee
Assistance Professional. Some of her experience
includes helping people with grief, parent/child
issues, communication concerns, relationship
conflicts, stress, and addictions to name
a few. She enjoys giving presentations on
various topics, but specializes on topics
educating those impacted by addiction.
Valerie Jackson
is from New Iberia, La. She graduated from
Jack Yates Senior High School in Houston,
Texas. She attended Houston Community College.
She has worked in the administration and clerical
field with a focus on payroll and human resources
for fifteen years. Currently she is responsible
for EAP appointment scheduling, client reception
and data reporting. She enjoys working with
people and plans to continue her education
in Business Administration.
