Exciting time at Municipal Courts

Director Barbara Sudhoff

As director of the Municipal Courts Administration Department, I am proud of the 400-plus employees who manage the daily operations of the court. From providing technical support for the entire court, to managing the courtroom processes, to processing all correspondence and payments, their job is a daunting task. On the average, the court serves more than 8,000 citizens daily. Providing accurate, timely, courteous service to the public is our number one responsibility.

It is an exciting time at Municipal Courts. Municipal courts judicial, the prosecutor’s office and municipal court administration are implementing the Integrated Case Management System project.

The ICMS project far exceeds merely replacing our antiquated computer systems. Our objective is to create a more responsive environment for the benefit of citizens and our internal customers such as HPD and other city departments that file violations with the court. To meet that objective, we are redesigning our core functions to serve the citizenry more efficiently, reducing the time necessary to resolve each case. Training employees is also a priority to ensure that we provide our staff with the tools necessary for success in this new environment.
