Gene Luu
Aviation
After a trip into Houston Intercontinental Airport, Daniel Paredes lugged his three suitcases to the elevator in terminal D. That elevator was working erratically, and the lights in the area were off, Paredes wrote. He rode the train to terminal C.

There, he carried his luggage to a smartecarte machine. But he didn’t have the proper change for the smartecarte, and no change machine was nearby. That’s when bicycle officer Gene Luu showed up, Paredes wrote. Luu helped Paredes get a cart and get on his way.

“Although this was a minor issue for Luu, it was a big deal to me, and I really appreciate his help,” Paredes wrote.
