Katherine Sacra
Legal
While Emily Burton waited to testify in a criminal trial, Katherine Sacra kept her informed about the proceedings. Sacra was kind and accommodating to all the witnesses, Burton wrote.

Then, when it was time to try the case, Sacra changed. “The kind Katherine was gone and a determined, quick-thinking, skilled Katherine was on display,” Burton wrote.

“Katherine did an amazing job,” she wrote. “She was truly a delight to work with and made what ended up being a full day in court a very pleasant and educational experience.”

“Ms. Garza was sweet and very helpful.”

“The work is complete and looks wonderful,” Heard wrote. “I have already received e-mails from several delighted alley mates.”

When Land Tejas Development Co. tied into the city’s water main, many issues cropped up during design, permitting and construction. And each time, Ann Sheridan and Nick Garefalos were there to provide clear, concise answers, wrote Collin Campbell.

“It is reassuring to know they are readily available to help my project team complete this task,” Campbell wrote. “I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Karen Coleman
Public Works & Engineering
Karen Coleman’s explanation was in terms a first-grader could understand, which is the level of her knowledge about her problem, said Mrs. Hirsh.

“One a scale of one to 10, Karen is an 11,” Hirsh said.

J.G. Mestre and his wife had always been told that presenting a claim to City Hall was a waste of time.

“I’m pleased to report that this viewpoint is not the case under the current administration,” they wrote.

Soon after they wrote a letter to Mayor Bill White about a problem at their home, Jody Craze, Evelyn Kuyendall, Julian Bonny and Wanda Kegley came out and fixed it.

“They acted with professionalism and took proper and efficient action,” the Mestres wrote. “They represented your administration very well.”

Clement Gibson and some co-workers came to Houston from Charlotte, N.C., to learn about the Ambassador Program for parking enforcement officers. They left with knowledge about so much more, Gibson wrote.

“We also gained knowledge about Houston’s news rack ordinance, meter bagging process, residential parking permit program, gorilla posts, expansion program, and booting,” he wrote.

Nicole Chinea, Maria Irshad, Jerry Keeth and Derrick Williams were so knowledgeable, and so willing to share that knowledge,” Gibson wrote.

“Seeing another city’s parking operations up close and personal helped us see our operation with fresh eyes,” he wrote. “This city has a lot to be proud of in its parking management division.”
