The Houston Railroad Museum preserves, enjoys and shares with the public the memory, history and experience of railroading, particularly Texas railroading, as it has been and as it is now. The museum features a collection of railroad locomotives, cars and other artifacts, as well as a model railroad and research library. 

The Houston Railroad Museum will open for the 2009 season April 4 and will be open every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Nov. 7.
