| You don’t know where you’ll be when you or a member of your family needs to see a doctor after office hours. In an emergency situation when you feel every minute counts, go to the emergency room. But if that’s not the case, it’s good to have options. That’s why new urgent-care centers have been added to accommodate your family’s needs. At a time when many health care plans are cutting back service options, eight new urgent-care centers are now available in Houston, Kingwood, Channelview, Atascocita, Humble and Conroe. Remember: no referral is needed for an urgent-care center. An urgent care visit copayment for HMO members is $40; for in-network PPO services, $60; and for out-of-network PPO services, it’s 60 percent of the center’s cost after the annual deductible. Emergency-room cost for HMO members is $150; for PPO members, it’s $150 plus 20 percent of the hospital’s emergency room cost. All listed clinics are in-network.
