b. Several hours. A cold virus can live
on a counter or other surface for several
hours. If you grab a door handle while
germs linger on it and then rub your eye
or touch your nose, you could be in for
a cold several days later.
To avoid catching a cold this season,
keep your fingers away from your nose
and eyes. Wash your hands often, especially
when you’re around people who are
coughing or sneezing. Finally, drink lots
of water.
