 Brilliant light

Soft dull light from an empty hall
enters soundlessly into her room
revealing her motionless naked form
sprawled over a nondescript bed
old faded covers do their best
to hide worn out dirty sheets
she dropped heavily
into this unkempt haven
drawn there by exhaustion
removing makeup
and trailing clothes
she quickly bathed herself
in brilliant light
removing the shadows of the day
