 One thousand pieces

Holding a mirror up to the sky
desiring to see your gentle face
I flung it down with all my might
you smiled in all one-thousand pieces

Not once have I deceived you,
being near you was enough
but, time has passed and I am new
my heart no longer just my own

Allow me to hold you firmly
as a grape clings to its nurturing vine
I am not afraid to be connected
of becoming with you, sweetest wine

Words must be spoken
of love and days yet to come
your face in all one-thousand pieces
smiles brightly in every one
