Jones Hall Facts

Today, Jones Hall is home to Houston Symphony and the Society for the Performing Arts. More than 400,000 visitors attend some 250 events annually.

Visitor Services

Accessibility
The following accommodations are available for the comfort and convenience of patrons:

  • Reserved disabled parking spaces in the Theater District Parking Garage on the green level near the Jones Hall tunnel entrance, with a stair-free route to the main elevator located on the courtyard level.
  • Three accessible door locations.
  • Near the elevator are modified restrooms and a wheelchair-accessible water fountain.
  • Wheelchair curb ramps are located on Capitol Street and Texas Avenue
  • Wheelchair and companion seating in two locations in the auditorium. Request these seats when ordering tickets.
  • FM headsets and loops for the hearing impaired are available in the lobby at no charge for each performance. Please ask an usher for assistance.
  • TTY telephones. The TTY number is 713.250.4844.

Distractions
Cameras, cellular phones, recording and paging devices, alarms on watches, and food and beverages are prohibited in Jones Hall. Taking photographs during a performance may violate performers' contracts and could result in their injury.

Emergency Calls
In order to find you quickly in an emergency, leave your seat location with your care-givers. The caller must provide your name and seat location (door, row and seat) so that an usher can notify you of the call. The emergency phone number is 713.238.2384.

Entrances
The lobby doors are opened one hour before Houston Symphony and Broadway Series performances and 90 minutes before Society for the Performing Arts events. Street-level entrances provide access to the main lobby from Louisiana Street and the side entrance on Texas Avenue. The courtyard entrance is accessible through the tunnel from the Theater District Parking garage. The theater is generally opened 30 minutes before curtain.

Food and Beverages
A variety of food and beverages are available in the lobby before performances and during intermission. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the theater.

Late Seating
Every effort is made to begin performances on time. Late seating is allowed only at designated intervals. For those awaiting late seating, the performance may be viewed on monitors in the lobby.

Smoking
A City of Houston ordinance forbids smoking in public buildings, including Jones Hall.
