SPRING CONCERTS BEGIN TONIGHT AT JONES PLAZA
Party on the Plaza Texas Style Opens with Honeybrowne, Deryl Dodd
April 3, 2003 -- Avoid rush hour and enjoy the sounds of Texas tonight in the heart of Houston's downtown Theater District.
The first of the free concerts scheduled for Jones Plaza this spring begins tonight when Party on the Plaza Texas Style opens its new season with the popular Austin-based band Honeybrowne. Deryl Dodd is the opening act.
Admission is free for the urban party, which begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 10. Persons under age 21 are not permitted unless accompanied by an adult.
Upcoming acts in the weekly Thursday night series include Cooder Graw, Reckless Kelly, Kevin Fowler, Cory Morrow and Radney Foster. For more information, call the Party on the Plaza event hotline at 713.230.1666 (prompt 6).
The Ultimate Tejano Party (formerly Tejano Night) kicks off on Tuesday, April 15, with Tejano star Jay Perez taking the Jones Plaza stage. Latin Breed is the opening act.
