For decades, the Mayorís Official July 4th Celebration has been a six hour event of festivities and tradition in Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou. It has become Houstonís signature annual event attracting nationally recognized recording artists and, regional and local talent. The festivities this year include the Southwest Airlines Sky Stage featuring vintage aircraft flyovers; Walmart All American Kids Zone, a free childrenís entertainment area; KBR Liberty Park, featuring military assets including tanks and helicopters and all five branches of the military; the Bud Light Zone, featuring the All American Beer Garden and Texas Menís and Womenís Sand Volleyball Championship and the Family Fitness Challenge Zone which includes all five Houston professional sports teams. The event culminates with one of the largest fireworks displays in the USA sponsored by Nation Waste overlooking the Houston skyline.
Media Coverage / Awareness

2013 – Over $13,000,000 in measured media value.  Sponsorship includes a comprehensive media plan that includes television, radio, print, web, and social media.

Category Exclusivity
Sponsor receives exclusivity regarding promotion of brand on-site at the event, specific to its business category.
Level of Audience Interest / Loyalty
Over 50,000 people on-site; 1,000,000 perimeter audience; and over 2 million television viewers.
Ability to Activate
Sponsor can conduct third-party promotions with approved retailers. Use of VIP hospitality area(s) for client entertainment commensurate with sponsor level. Promotional timeframe of one month prior to the event and day of event.
Sponsor Exclusivity

The Mayorís Office of Special Events values our sponsors and relationships. Sponsorships are limited and are potentially category exclusive.

Protection of Property

Mayor’s Office of Special Events controls tickets, signage and on-site activity at the event.

Networking Opportunities

Co-producers include the City of Houston and ABC-13/KTRK-TV. The 2014 sponsors are: Title Ė Southwest Airlines and Anchor Sponsors: Bud Light, Dr Pepper, KBR, and Walmart. Weekly planning meetings and an annual sponsor appreciation luncheon offer networking opportunities, as well as the VIP area at Freedom Over Texas.

Media Coverage Potential

The event issued 300 media credentials in 2011. ABC-13/KTRK-TV is a partner in producing the Freedom Over Texas. Major radio and print media partners. Dedicated Public Relations by nationally known firm, DPWPR.

The Mayor’s Office of Special Events live entertainment and event programming, producing and marketing expertise spans 20+ years.  There is extensive dedication to working with sponsors and collaborating with media to deliver a high quality interactive marketing experience while ensuring a spectacular event for on-site attendees and television viewing audience.  Long-term loyal anchor sponsors and high sponsor renewal rate are indicative of the Event’s successful history.

Beneficiary

The Mayor’s Office of Special Events produces and permits events within Mayor Parker’s civic celebration program that enhances Houston’s community spirit and rich cultural diversity.  Proceeds benefit Central Houston Civic Improvement, Inc is a Texas 501(c)(3) non-profit.  Sponsorship is tax-deductible.
