HEAR image

Houston Employee Assessment and Review (HEAR): HEAR is a new system that will provide a clear, two-way channel of communication between employees and supervisors. Work plans will be aligned with department goals and the Mayor's five pillars. And employees will be able to track and monitor job performance, giving them a clear roadmap for success. Strengthening Your Core

Strengthening Your Core (SYC): The next session of our Strengthening Your Core program will launch in January 2018. Strengthening Your Core focuses on eight behavioral factors that are commonly chosen as part of the HEAR plan. This program is designed to provide you with more in-depth training on the eight behavioral factors. Participants will gain further understanding of the behavioral factors and how they pertain to job performance, learn the behavioral factors and their definitions and be able to identify the metrics used by supervisors to rate each behavioral factor. Emerging Leaders Training Program

Emerging Leaders Training Program:

Employees can lead from any position in the organization. This program will develop and enhance the leadership skills of non-supervisory employees.

Upon completion of this course participants will learn:

  • How to operate with the big picture in mind
  • How to own their own professional development
  • How their communication skills can make or break them
  • How to have a reputation for setting high standards and achieving their goals
  • How sometimes it is all about their behavior/conduct
