LED Street Light Pilot Program

Area above is just north of Beltway 8 and west of I-45 South

Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a new and efficient technology that has been implemented into consumer products from flashlights to automobile lights. This new technology is now being incorporated into street lights.

Some of the goals from LED street lights include:

• Reduce energy consumption
• Reduce carbon footprint
• Improve lighting for all vehicular and pedestrian traffic
• Improve safety

This Pilot Program is being conducted for public viewing at the location shown on map. The proposed duration for this Program is six months from August to January.
