Healthy Pets Healthy Streets at Montie Beach Park
Council Member Karla Cisneros has partnered with BARC to leverage two Healthy Pets Healthy Streets events in District H during the month of February as part of the Love Your Pet initiative at Eastwood Park and Montie Beach Park. These events are voucher-only, meaning pet owners should not bring their animals. The City of Houston’s BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions partners with some of Houston's top pet advocates (Friends For Life, SNAP, Emancipet, Houston Humane Society and others) to reduce pet overpopulation and promote pet wellness in targeted areas of Houston. The initiative offers free spay/neuter and wellness vouchers to pet owners in neighborhoods with a large number of stray animals and dog bite complaints in the City.
