Christina CABRAL, who served as Director for Community Affairs at the WEDGE Group, and previously served as Protocol Officer at the United States Department of Defense, is the Director of theMayor’s Office on Boards and Commissions and advises the Mayor on special projects.
Rogene GEE CALVERT, formerly Chief of Staff for City Councilman Gordon Quan, is Director of Personnel and Director ofMayor’s Volunteer Initiatives Program.
Helen T. CHANG is the Director ofInternational Affairs and Development, with responsibility for promoting closer coordination and responsiveness between the Mayor's Office and the international community of Houston, and establishing Global partnerships with international cities.
Linda G. CLARKE serves as Director of Education and Special Projects. She was formerly Executive Director of the Houston Annenberg (A+) Challenge, a public/private partnership directing the single largest sum of money ever dedicated to public school reform in the Greater Houston area.
Terence H. FONTAINE, a former Airline Pilot and Pilot Instructor at Continental and Continental Express Airlines was also Manager of Maintenance Operations for Continental Airlines and now serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. Mr. Fontaine's primary responsibility is to monitor and improve day-to-day municipal operations.
Anthony W. HALL, Jr. , formerly Chairman of the Metro Board and a former City Council member and State Representative, is Chief Administrative Officer. His primary responsibilities are implementation of some of the Administration’s significant priorities which cut across organizational lines and participation in the budget process and oversight of safety issues.
Richard LAPIN, an attorney and business executive who served as Mayor White’s Policy Assistant during the campaign, is Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration for the Mayor’s Office, with responsibility for improving responsiveness to citizens, and various special projects. Those projects include responsibilities for Mayor White’s citizen’s task force reviewing the city’s convention, entertainment, and tourism functions and a citizen’s task force on reform of the building permits process.
Dr. Carol A. LEWIS, an associate professor in transportation studies and director of the Center for Transportation Training and Research at Texas Southern University, is Executive Assistant to the Mayor for Transportation Planning.
Frank MICHEL, former Associate Editor of the Houston Chronicle in charge of its editorial and opinion pages, is Communications Director.
Michael MOORE, who managed Mayor White’s campaign and who served on his staff at the United States Department of Energy, is Chief of Staff. His principal responsibilities are communications and relations with City Council.
David SAPERSTEIN, former founder and CEO of Metro Networks, is Chair of Mayor’s Office on Mobility. Mr. Saperstein does not receive salary and maintains his own office expense. Mr. Saperstein built one of the most successful Houston-based businesses, which monitored and reported on traffic conditions in major cities in the United States. Mr. Saperstein is a representative of the Mayor for implementing the Administration’s initiatives for removing traffic bottlenecks which impede the flow of traffic and improving traffic management systems.
Marty STEIN is Agenda Director, a position she has held since the prior Administration.
Steve TINNERMON, who served as Chief of Staff in the prior Administration, is head of an interdepartmental working group on improving blighted neighborhoods.
