November 17, 2005 -- Mayor Bill White along with local dignitaries attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Canal Street Apartments, a 133-unit single room occupancy (SRO) apartment complex for adults who are low-income. The complex is located at 2821 Canal Street in Houston's Second Ward.
