MAYOR BILL WHITE INVITES HOUSTONIANS TO STAY CONNECTED THROUGH EMAIL

September 20, 2007 - Mayor Bill White invites Houstonians to register online for CitizensNet to receive periodic emails about specific topics important to them as well as their neighborhoods. Please go to the City of Houston homepage, www.houstontx.gov and register with CitizensNet today.

Examples of information provided in CitizensNet emails to date are ways to receive tax credits for home energy efficiency, notification of changes in garbage collection routes, announcement of library openings, dates for urban corridor planning workshops, quiet zones at railing crossings, Houston Hope--Mayor Bill White 's initiative to reinvest in several of Houston's older neighborhoods, the Tour de Houston bike ride, city crime statistics and the Mayor's 2007 State of the City address.
