Enjoy a guilt-free shopping spree with the CMC online auction

WHAT
Nearly 300 items are being auctioned to benefit Combined Municipal Campaign charities. The CMC is the city's annual workplace charity drive supporting more than 750 organizations. Available items include a home white Astros jersey signed by Roger Clemens during the 2005 World Series, a 2005 NCAA National Champion football signed by Vince Young, behind-the-scenes zoo adventures, and sports and theater tickets.

WHY
To spotlight the CMC. This auction puts the fun in fundraising. Last year, city employees gave more than $560,000 to help those less fortunate.

There's something for everyone. Winning bidders can bring home new Beanie Baby buddies, or take a special buddy out on a romantic sunset cruise on Lake Somerville. They can make new buddies with the Houston Zoo's elephants and giraffes, or over lunch with the firefighters of Station 28. Alumni, or hopeful alumni, can get Rice U. memorabilia, or fans can get tickets to a Rockets game.

Proceeds go to organizations helping those in need in our community, including Texas Children's Hospital, Friends of BARC, Friends of the Houston Public Library, the Dennis W. Holder Scholarship Fund, the Houston Food Bank, Children at Risk, the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, and others.
