STATEMENT FROM MAYOR BILL WHITE ON CONTINENTAL AIRLINES ANNOUNCEMENT
June 5, 2008 -- "I spoke with Continental's CEO Larry Kellner prior to the announcement," said Mayor White. "There are no plans to delay the multi-year expansion of Terminal B at Bush Intercontinental Airport, which the City is undertaking in partnership with Continental. We certainly understand the issues facing the airline industry and we all hope this is short term. Continental appears to be in a good position to address some of these issues as they take delivery of new fuel-efficient aircraft."
