MAYOR BILL WHITE'S CITIZENS' ASSISTANCE OFFICE TO HOLD Know Your Rights as Tenant and Landlord FORUM
July 1, 2008 -- The Mayor's Citizens' Assistance Office will be hosting a forum on Know Your Rights as Tenant and Landlord , on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. The event will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Southwest Multi-Service Center, 6400 Highstar.
This event comes after the mayor's pledge to spend $1 million a year on home inspections in order to ensure the city's safety standards. The open forum will involve a question and answer session and will address issues that landlords and tenants have raised. Speakers will include David Sadegh from the Tenant Council of Houston, Royce Sells & Jesus Cuellar with the Fair Housing Division of the Housing and Community Development Department and the Neighborhood Protection Corps.
