REGISTRATION FOR FEMA REIMBURSEMENTS IS AVAILABLE BY TELEPHONE
The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has made registration for reimbursements for damage to homes and temporary housing needs available by telephone. The information is available in both English and Spanish. People who need to register for federal assistance can reach a live FEMA representative by calling 1-800-621-3362. This phone registration is intended to provide a user-friendly process that connects citizens to live FEMA representatives.
Applicants should expect a 20-30 minute phone interview with a live FEMA representative. Prior to calling the FEMA toll-free call center, applicants should have available date of disaster, social security number, address, contact information, family gross income, and insurance information handy. Applicants can also get information and forms on www.fema.gov.
